Chile has been named as host country for the upcoming Political Science World Congress of the International Political Science Association, to be held on July 12-16, 2009.
The Congress serves as a prelude to the celebration of Chile’s bicentenary, which encompasses a broad range of academic and cultural activities, centred around issues of the country’s goals and hopes for the future and what is being collectively projected. The Chilean Political Science Association wants to make this congress a turning point in the development of the discipline in Latin America. The theme of the Congress is "Global Discontent?: Dilemmas of Change".
